چکیده

In this nested case-control study, we evaluated haematological and morphological parameters of hospitalised patients with real-time polymerase chain reaction verified COVID-19 infection compared to similar symptomatology but without infection. Seventy-four positive 228 negative were routine parameters. Severe disease was defined as death and/or need intensive care treatment. Twenty-seven 18 furthermore included for evaluation using smear examination. Significant differences found platelet indices white blood cell Thus, count plateletcrit lower in patients, whilst mean volume, distribution width, large ratio significantly higher than non-COVID-19 patients. Leukocyte, neutrophil, immature granulocyte, lymphocyte, monocyte, eosinophil, basophil No significant red count, haemoglobin, haematocrit or corpuscular haemoglobin versus a severe course had levels granulocytes, lymphocyte counts non-severe COVID-19. terms morphology, 14.8% normal examination, 83.3% Hypogranulated neutrophils more frequent (p < .001), reactive lymphocytes, conclusion, several abnormalities are disease, findings indicate that platelets play fundamental role the pathophysiology disease.
